Tensed

I don't know if everyone's aware of what's happening currently in dhaka. Well in a word the situations is TENSED. According to awami league they are fighting for people's demand and rights, according to BNP they are protecting people's constituional rights and guess who's suffering? Yeap the same people. And who's to blame? Ofcourse these two arrogant ladies.

Everyone's afraid and staying at home. Well not me. I had to went out for a couple of occassion. And believe me I've never seen dhaka this way. I've seen dhaka in awami league's oborodh times in 95-96. I've seen dhaka in numerous hortals, but never the streets were so empty. My father who's posted at jessore must need to leave dhaka today, so I've to go out again to take him to the airport the only way to get in to or out from dhaka. I don't know what's coming.

Both parties have taken K M hasan issue as their ego. So there's no looking back now. The country has devided into awami league and bnp and fighting everywhere. Even they've ransacked BSMRMC (former PG hospital) at shahbagh. For a country like us this type of things is really very unfortunate. Why don't they understand? Because everyone wants the power. They are just fighting so that they could gain power for the next five years and do whatever they want like they did during their regime.

Now I think common people like me are ready to embrace marshall law. Although there's rumour that K M hasan refused to become the chief. I hope it's true. The only seemingly solution. President Iaz uddin has called Jalil and manna bhuyan to his office at bongobhobon. Let's see what's happening next...

And pray for me 'cause I'm now going to the airport :)

Good luck to myself.....

Update :
It took only 27minutes exactly for me to go to airport and returned back home at mohammudpur. For the first time in my life I'vent seen any bus on the street. Only a few cars, ambulances, CNG autorickshaws were there. And rickshaws outnumberred all others.

Update 2:There's been a problem with blogger which prevented me from posting. :( I hope the issues fixed now.

  7. This yearning for martial law by ordinary people scares me. Don't they see the condition of Pakistan? when the army took over in Pak, everyone was happy. Now years later things are the same except you can't complain as you don't have democracy and freedom of speech. At least now we can discuss and criticize on blogger.

  8. Tanveer, i saw the incident on tv too. It was really a very cruel thing to watch. But we blame not only because we only know how to blame, because they did things that are to be blamed. The system is so messed up right now, that it's very hard to find a way of relief from it. Our concern will not produce a leader, only can help him to establish. Dr. Yunus announced before he was leaving for korea, that he would form a political party with 'shuchil shomaj'. Lets see what's coming... But to practice and establish democracy we need educated politically concerned voters. I wonder wheather we have that.

Nowal, K M hasan was the person who was supposed to be the chief of caretaker government. You might need to do a little bit study to know more about him. This might help you.

  9. Esha in a democratic country we've to take the blames for our elected government. :) Can't help it.

  10. look..we r approaching in wrong direction...we have to deal with what we have..and we have no choice..we have to live with these..but we have to find a solution living in this..
mirtial law is not going to help..at frst it may seem welcome relief but i dont think it is going to do any good in long run..
we cant avoid the two parties either..they have supporters of their own and if u have watched the television 4 last 3 days u know they have their dedicated supporters..how cna u ignore them?
so what we need now is an acceptable leader..this is the only thing that can help us...a leader who will work for us..but at the present condition u dont have that.so what can we do? i doubt if u can have an acceptable leader in next 15/20 years...i dont think so..so the only way is prepare ourselves for these..
u need example?think about jamat..how they silently orgnize themselves and now becomes 1 of the ruling party..they had their plan and they follow it..on the other hand left hand partis fell back for their own lack of plans...so in the current scenerio actually we have nothing to do except trying to make small changes in ourselves..trying to organize ourselves and trying to make eligible leaders....it is a long process and we have to wait..but actually we have no other options..

  11. Well...I know many ppl of our country wants to see marshal law as they became sick of so called democracy. But the thing is, in a our country like ours the chief of armed forces is generally selected by the ruling party. The current army chief got his post overtaking 4/5 senior army officers. Here loyalty to the govt. is the only concern. So, if army takes power, it will only be beneficial for the recent ruling parties, as it will be eaisier for them to escape. From the expression of occupants of "Hawa Vaban" it seemed that they also love to embrace marshal law. It doesn't mean I'm all for AL. I'm equally sick of these power lovers :( . But I don't think marshal law is an option.

  13. Shafi you blamed the two old ladies. I am ofcourse agreeing with u. But its not only the two old ladies, in fact we have lost our faith on these two parties. Even the other parties one named Jatiya party(which is presided by a Shameless Devil Ershad), and a other one which even i dont want to utter the name for their mischiefs in 71, and communists or whatever, we can;t rely on anyone. But the problem is we have no other options. In election we will find that one of these parties will again gain the mandate.
Recently BNP is broken down to a new party named LDP. Well done is the first thing that i will have to say, but look at the names carefully. They are screaming against the corruption of BNP leaders, but many of them are corrupted themselves. So here also we need to be careful(I can;t utter the names publicly).
So what are the options remaining. What can we do? Army? Never.
Only the way i find is the formation of a new party allied with the so called "SUSHIL SOMAJ". The problem again arising is that the "SUSHIL SOMAJ" has almost no relationship with the mass people. So it may happen that we pay no heed to them. Because we are not all, the country is always we are leaving behind.
Actually what i meant to say that we suffer the need of a real hero. A hero like "YUNUS" or some one else. A hero who saved country from disasters before (Like S Mujibur Rahman or Ziaur Rahman). But what can we(the students or youth) do right now to serve the country? watch televission, post comments and remain home. I don;t know, but i feel we must know.

  16. I watched a news video on youtube about what happened the day BNP stepped down...i couldn't believe my eyes when they showed the part where a bunch of people started beating up this guy with sticks and bamboos...and eventually he was killed on the spot. This is the most shocking video i've seen in recent times. I believe if this would have happened in any part of the world at any time, the whole world would know and talk about it.

I guess our hearts are turning into stones. We forgot about it..and don't even want to talk about it. I couldn't find the same news the next day on TV.

I don't love my country anymore. We are just a bunch of selfish, useless violent, corrupted animals. Don't tell me i am generalizing, there were thousands of people in the streets...and a whole lot of other people watched him die....just because he is a political opponent.

I don't care whether someone is actually AL, BNP or jamati or whatever....we WERE still human beings.

May god help us become human again !

  17. After winning Nobel Peace prize you'd think the people would be more sensible than to start fighting the way they did. IT was definitely barabaric on both sides and there's no one to blame, but the government for creating such chaos.

They are responsible to all the murder in my eyes. IF they gave the people what is rightfully their's then we wouldn't see all this today.

I can't wait until both the Awami League and the BNP just vanish. Hasina is ruining her father's image and Khaleda is just well, she doesn't have much left to ruin.

Maybe we bloggers should create our own party? The Bangladeshi United Bloggers Party?

  18. Ronju bhai, although jamat organized themselves as a party but I strongly doubt about people's support towards them.

Thanks nabila for visiting and the comment. I wonder whethere Tareq rahman's going to face the same as Ershad in '91 if BNP led 4 party allience failed to win the election.

Swakkhar I totally agree with you. Yes only a HERO can save us. Lets see what's in store for us.

Jyotirmoy, I was also surprised after hearing hasina's decision. I am really thankful to their judgemnt for saving us experiencing from more difficult time.

Samee, I also saw the clip. It was really a very cruel thing to watch. They eventually beat him to death with blunt instrumetns like sticks and oars. One of the guy who suffered death wasn't even involved with any politicial parties. He went out to earn his living and eventually fell between the two parties. That's so sad. :(

  19. Bengali fob, most of the bangladeshi people are really now off their limits for these two power loving parties.
But I disagree that only the BNP government is to responsible for all the chaos. Its true that they've acted shamelessly placing their own people into appropriate position so that they could change election result. But you've to remember that awami league did the same thing on '96. I'm not justifying bnp's deed but bnp also didn't accept Latiful huq as caretaker chief but later latiful huq proved that he was not biased.
If awami league can give president 3days time to watch his activities why they can't show the same to K. M. Hasan?

Both parties are to blame for these loss.
